THE FOREIGN MINISTRY MOURNS THE PASSING OF DR. JORGE CARPIZO MACGREGOR

With deep regret, the Foreign Ministry has received the news of the death of Dr. Jorge Carpizo MacGregor today in Mexico City.

Dr. Jorge Carpizo, a very well-known politician, jurist and academic, was president of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); Attorney General; Secretary of the Interior and President of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH). He also served as Mexico’s ambassador to France.

The Foreign Ministry extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Carpizo for their irreparable loss.
