AMBASSADOR ROGELIO GRANGUILLHOME, AMEXCID EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, VISITS THE OAS The Executive Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Mexican International Development and Cooperation Agency, Ambassador Rogelio Granguillhome, traveled to the Organization of American States (OAS) today to explain AMEXCID’s role and discuss its portfolio of projects and the priorities of the Mexican Presidency of the G20 Development Working Group (DWG). The ambassador met with the Permanent Representatives of Central America and the Caribbean to the OAS, held a meeting with OAS Secretary General José Miguel Insulza and participated in a session of the Permanent Executive Committee of the Interamerican Council for Integral Development (CEPCIDI), the most important hemispheric cooperation agency. During the meetings, Ambassador Granguillhome explained the progress made by the Development Working Group, emphasizing how important it is for Mexico to continue a dialogue with the countries of the region to hear their perspectives on the G20 development agenda and elaborating on the DWG’s three sectoral priorities: infrastructure, food security and green growth. He also explained the cooperation programs that AMEXCID has with the Caribbean, the initiatives that will be presented during the second Mexico-Caribbean Community Summit and the status of the projects approved during the 13th meeting of the Tuxtla Mechanism. The Latin American countries welcomed the opportunity to hear about the AMEXCID’s work and asked the Mexican presidency to continue to inform them about the issues on the agenda.
