AMBASSADOR ALFREDO PEREZ BRAVO APPOINTED DIRECTOR GENERAL OF PROTOCOL Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa has appointed Ambassador Alfredo Perez Bravo as Director General of Protocol as of today; he replaces Ambassador Jorge Castro-Valle Kuehne who became Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean on April 3rd. Ambassador Pérez Bravo has been a member of the Mexican Foreign Service since 1980 and was promoted to ambassador in 1994. Since August 2007, he has been Mexico’s ambassador in Russia. Previously he served as ambassador to Malaysia and Panama and as itinerant ambassador in Africa, based in Algeria; Deputy Head of Mission in Sweden and was in charge of political affairs in the United States embassy. In the Foreign Ministry, he has been Director General of Technical and Scientific Cooperation and has worked in the Office for Management and Budget; the Treaty Department; the Foreign Service Office; and the Department for the United Nations. He has a BA in International Relations from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
