A SEMINAR ON THE ROLE OF MEXICO’S FOREIGN POLICY IN THE PEACE PROCESS IN EL SALVADOR TAKES PLACE IN THE FOREIGN MINISTRY To mark the twentieth anniversary of the peace accords in El Salvador that were signed at Chapultepec Castle in 1992, a seminar was held today in the Foreign Ministry on the role of Mexico’s foreign policy in the peace process in El Salvador. The seminar included diplomats, intellectuals and specialists and was convened by the Foreign Ministry and the Matías Romero Institute. The opening ceremony was chaired by the Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean, Ambassador Jorge Castro-Valle; the ambassador of Mexico in El Salvador, Raul López-Lira Nava; the Salvadoran Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Integration and Tourism, Carlos Alfredo Castaneda Magaña; and Education, Héctor Samour Canán; and the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of El Salvador in Mexico, Luis Palacios Carabantes. |
