INFORMATION ON PERMITS TO REGISTER A COMPANY In accordance with the decree published in the Official Journal of the Federation on December 15, 2011, the Foreign Ministry reports that, beginning June 16, 2012, the Economy Ministry will be in charge of registering new companies, as well as name changes, liquidations, mergers and other changes to businesses. The Economy Ministry is working on a new system that is not yet operational and has asked the Foreign Ministry to lend it its computer system and installations during the transition. Therefore, in order to avoid interruptions to the above-mentioned services, the two ministries agreed that the Economy Ministry will take charge of providing the services but will be based at the Foreign Ministry (Plaza Juárez, No. 20, colonia Centro, Delegación Cuauhtémoc, Mexico City) and at the Foreign Ministry’s delegations outside of Mexico City until September 15, 2012. Beginning on September 16th and based on Article 27, Section I of the Constitution of the United Mexican States and 14 of the Rules and Regulations of the Foreign Investment Law and the National Registry of Foreign Investment, notices or changes regarding clauses to include or exclude foreigners from Mexican companies must be submitted to the Foreign Ministry, either at its headquarters or its delegations outside of Mexico City. |
