The Foreign Ministry reports that Mexico’s ambassador to Paraguay, Fernando Estrada Samano, was instructed today to return to Mexico for consultations.

Ambassador Estrada Samano will bring first-hand information to Mexico regarding the situation in Paraguay stemming from the impeachment of Fernando Lugo and his removal from the office of president.

Mexico is paying close attention to developments in Paraguay and is consulting with other countries of the region regarding the steps that can be taken to contribute to the legal and harmonious resolution of this situation.
