MEXICO CONGRATULATES EGYPT ON THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

On behalf of the Mexican government, the Foreign Ministry applauds the peaceful presidential election in Egypt. It also congratulates Dr. Mohammed Mursi for his electoral victory.

Mexico hopes the elected officials continue with an inclusive transition process under the rule of law and that they promote and protect human rights.

Mexico is ready to continue strengthening its historic ties of friendship and cooperation with Egypt.
