FOREIGN SECRETARY PATRICIA ESPINOSA PRESENTS THE OUTCOME OF THE G20 LEADERS SUMMIT TO THE OECD COUNCIL 

Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa presented the results of the G20 Summit in Los Cabos today to the 34 member countries of the OECD Council at its headquarters in Paris, France. She also discussed the next steps for the Mexican presidency of the group.

Foreign Secretary Espinosa stressed the hard work of the Mexican presidency that resulted, despite the difficult international financial environment, in a successful Summit. She also emphasized the importance of the dialogue with the private sector, trade unions, NGOs and youths, all of which was conducted on the sidelines of the Summit.

Ambassador Espinosa stressed that the achievements of the Summit resulted in clear mandates for financial and other topics, especially development, under the responsibility of the Mexican Foreign Ministry. She highlighted the innovative way in which trade, jobs, food security, inclusive green growth, corruption, tourism and the gender perspective were addressed.

Lastly, she thanked OECD Secretary General and Mexican citizen José Angel Gurria and the OECD member countries for their support of the Mexican presidency. Foreign Secretary Espinosa was accompanied by the Permanent Representative of Mexico to the OECD, Ambassador Agustin Garcia-Lopez; the Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights, Ambassador Juan Manuel Gomez-Robledo, and the Ambassador of Mexico in France, Carlos de Icaza.
