AN INFORMAL MINISTERIAL MEETING OF THE PACIFIC ALLIANCE CONCLUDES An informal ministerial meeting of the Pacific Alliance was held today in Mexico City; it was attended by Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa and the Economy Ministry's Undersecretary of Foreign Trade, Francisco de Rosenzweig, who discussed the Alliance's achievements to date with their counterparts from Chile, Colombia and Peru. During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the Alliance's progress and shared their thoughts on the importance of promoting economic integration, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. They also agreed on the need to identify projects that improve the free movement of goods, services, capital and people; promote more growth, development and competitiveness of their economies; and make the alliance into a global platform. Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa renewed Mexico's commitment to the Pacific Alliance and noted that it was a priority of Mexico's foreign policy agenda. She said the Alliance represents an opportunity for Mexico and the rest of its members to deepen their integration and ties with other regions. |
