OAS VISIT TO PARAGUAY

The Mexican government has received and carefully reviewed the report of the OAS Secretary General after his July 1-2 visit to Paraguay, in which Mexico’s permanent representative to the OAS participated.

Mexico expresses its support for the recommendations in the Secretary General’s report and any steps taken by the OAS to strengthen Paraguay’s democratic institutions and legal system.

In addition, the Mexican government welcomes the openness of the Paraguayan government to addressing the recommendations of the OAS Secretary General, and is ready to share its experiences and suggestions with Paraguay to help consolidate its democracy and institutional development through concrete actions that benefit Paraguayan society as a whole. 

In order to actively support the OAS’ efforts in Paraguay, Mexico’s ambassador in that country, Fernando Estrada Samano, will return to Asuncion.
