MIDDLE INCOME COUNTRIES’ AID AGENCIES DISCUSS INTERNATIONAL AID POLICIES

The workshop "Global Dialogue on International Cooperation and Development Agencies" began today with the aim of identifying common challenges, sharing experiences and building exchange networks among middle-income countries with international development cooperation agencies.

Organized by the Foreign Ministry’s Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) in conjunction with the German Ministry of Economic and Development Cooperation (BMZ), the goal of the workshop is to establish a more systematic dialogue to help find ways to efficiently manage the agencies.

From October 29-30, representatives of various government agencies, international aid agencies and guests from academia and international organizations from eight countries will discuss their experiences with national strategies for international cooperation, the opportunities and risks of different organizational structures, costs and financing models, monitoring and evaluation systems and global initiatives such as the G20.

The workshop is being held in the Foreign Ministry with the participation of Chile, China, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Peru, Russia and South Africa.

The opening ceremony was chaired by AMEXCID Executive Director Rogelio Granguillhome and BMZ Deputy Director General Gisela Hammerschmidt.
