THE AMEXCID EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SIGNS AGREEMENTS TO DELIVER PROJECTS MADE POSSIBLE WITH MEXICAN AID • Another chapter of Mexican aid in Haiti comes to a close. • The AMEXCID Executive Director oversees the final details of the projects donated by the "Mexico Partnership for Haiti." The Executive Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Mexican Agency of International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), Rogelio Granguillhome, traveled to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to finalize delivery of the projects made possible by Mexican aid in Haiti, part of the “Mexico Partnership for Haiti” public-private initiative. In meetings with the non-governmental organizations that will be responsible for operating two orphanage schools, a trade school, a health clinic and a comprehensive development center, the AMEXCID Executive Director will sign the documents delivering the projects. As part of this visit, Ambassador Granguillhome will also officiate over the delivery of three thousand aid packages sent by the Mexican government to Haiti for the people affected by Hurricane Sandy. The packages will be delivered to families in Les Cayes. Ambassador Granguillhome is heading a delegation made up of officials from the Education Ministry and the Banamex Social Foundation. It includes the Education Ministry’s Director General of International Relations, Mario Chacon, who will negotiate the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding for Mexico-Haiti Scholarships; and the Director General of the Banamex Social Foundation, Fernando Peón, in representation of the foundations that make up the Mexico Partnership for Haiti. Rogelio Granguillhome and his delegation will hold a meeting with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Education and Tourism to discuss cooperation between the two countries. The delivery of these projects represents the culmination of a chapter of broad and sustained development cooperation between President Felipe Calderon’s administration and the government and people of Haiti.
