THE MEXICAN AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION HOLDS ITS SECOND ANNUAL MEETING • Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa says the agency was strengthened in 2012. • The AMEXCID Executive Director makes his first report to the Advisory Board. • Approval to create five technical advisory boards to hold discussions with academia, local governments, the private sector and civil society In accordance with the International Development Cooperation Law, the AMEXCID held its second annual meeting today with the participation of the 20 institutions that make up its Advisory Board. Those present heard AMEXCID Executive Director, Ambassador Rogelio Granguillhome, report on the agency’s activities. He noted the progress made in establishing a system of international development cooperation as required by law, including the creation of the Cooperation Fund. The Advisory Board also approved the creation of five honorary advisory boards. The AMEXCID Advisory Board authorized the creation of the following technical councils: academic, local government, private sector, civil society and a "technical advisor" made up of individuals familiar with the field of international cooperation. The Mexican government is working to build bridges of dialogue and consultation with participating agencies that, while not part of the federal government or the AMEXCID Advisory Board, are increasingly active in international cooperation around the world.
