MEXICO DEPLORES THE DECISION OF THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT TO BUILD NEW SETTLER HOMES IN EAST JERUSALEM AND THE WEST BANK

On behalf of the Mexican government, the Foreign Ministry deplores the decision of the Israeli government to authorize the construction of 3,000 new homes in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

The construction of new settlements in the E1 corridor in the West Bank and East Jerusalem casts doubt on Israel´s desire to make progress towards a comprehensive solution based on the existence of two economically viable states with internationally recognized borders.

The Mexican government calls on the Israeli government to reverse its decision and to act in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions.
