MEXICO LAMENTS THE ASSAULT IN ACAPULCO

The Mexican government laments the assault that took place early on Sunday, February 4 against a Mexican citizen and a group of Spanish tourists in Acapulco, Guerrero.

As soon as the facts were made known, the Spanish citizens received consular assistance from Spain, first from the Honorary Consul of Spain in Acapulco and later from the Consul General of Spain in Mexico, who traveled to Acapulco.

The incident falls under local jurisdiction and is being investigated by local authorities who will report on their progress.

The Mexican government reiterates its ties of friendship and expresses its sympathy to the Spanish people.
