THE 24TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE LATIN AMERICA WORKING GROUP OF THE INTER-AMERICAN DIALOGUE CONCLUDES The 24th annual meeting of the Latin America Working Group of the Inter-American Dialogue (IAD) ended today. Foreign Secretary José Antonio Meade and a group of senior specialists attended the event. Foreign Secretary Meade discussed the importance of foreign policy as one of the cornerstones of President Enrique Peña Nieto’s administration, saying that Mexico wants “a more united and more integrated Latin America and Caribbean.” He said further that the Foreign Ministry will promote the political dialogue, trade and investment, tourism, Mexican culture and cooperation, and will protect the human rights of the migrants in Mexico and of Mexicans abroad. He said that the Latin American and Caribbean region has shared challenges that it resolves through dialogue and cooperation. The meeting was attended by the founding president of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI), Ambassador Andrés Rozental; the President Emeritus of the Inter-American Dialogue, Peter Hakim; and current IAD President Michael Shifter.
