FOREIGN SECRETARY MEADE APPOINTS EMILIO SUAREZ LICONA AS THE NEW DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICY COORDINATION
Foreign Secretary José Antonio Meade has appointed Emilio Suarez Licona as the new Director General of Policy Coordination, effective February 1st.
Mr. Suarez holds a degree in law from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM ) and has studied towards a Master's degree in Government and Public Policy at the Universidad Panamericana.
He has spoken on electoral and parliamentary law at the ITAM and other academic institutions. He is currently Honorary Advisor to the Argentina Association of Legislative Sciences and Parliamentary Law.
Professionally, he has had an extensive career in Congress, where he has held positions such as the legal counsel in legislative and government agencies, chief of staff to the Secretary General and to the Secretary of Parliamentary Services of the Chamber of Deputies. His responsibilities included contributing to the legislative process, providing technical and legal support to committees, governing bodies and the plenary, and coordinating the work of the Academic Research Centers and the Library of the Chamber of Deputies.
In September 2012, he was appointed as Head of the Technical Support Unit of the Office of the Finance Secretary, where he was responsible for following finance legislation.
