MEXICO MOURNS THE DEATH OF BANGLADESH PRESIDENT MOHAMMED ZILLUR RAHMAN

 

On behalf of the Mexican government, the Foreign Ministry laments the death of Bangladesh President Mohammed Zillur Rahman and extends its condolences to his family and to the Bangladeshi government and people.

 

Zillur Rahman was one of the most prominent politicians of his country and was active in the War of Liberation (1971) and in founding what is today the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

Mexico and Bangladesh established diplomatic relations on July 8, 1975. In December 2012, the Bangladesh government opened an embassy in our country.
