MEXICO AND HUNGARY STRENGTHEN THEIR BILATERAL TIES
The Foreign Ministry’s Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights, Ambassador Juan Manuel Gómez Robledo, held meetings today in Budapest with the goal of strengthening the bilateral relationship between Mexico and Hungary.
The Undersecretary met with Péter Szijártó, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Economic Relations in the Office of the Prime Minister; Zsolt Németh, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Foreign Ministry; Kristóf Szatmáry, Secretary of State of the Economy Ministry responsible for economic regulation; and János Martonyi, Foreign Minister.
During the meetings, Ambassador Gómez Robledo conveyed the greetings of President Enrique Peña Nieto and the desire of the Mexican government to strengthen the ties between the two countries. He also stressed the importance of the dialogue with the European Union for diversifying political and economic relations.
The Undersecretary also discussed the actions taken by the President in his first months in office and the directives that will guide the Mexican government for the next six years in order to achieve a more inclusive, secure and prosperous Mexico.
He also commented on Mexico’s role as a global actor that fully assumes its responsibilities on the world stage, mentioning Dr. Herminio Blanco’s candidacy for the post of WTO Director General and the importance of free trade to drive growth and of avoiding the protectionist tendencies that can be seen in some regions. |
