FOUR YEAR OLD VALERIA HERNANDEZ DE JESUS REPATRIATED TO MEXICO

The Foreign Ministry reports that four year old Valeria Hernández de Jesús was successfully repatriated to Mexico today. She had disappeared from Texcoco in the state of Mexico on April 1 and was found by the National Civil Police of El Salvador.

She arrived in Mexico City accompanied by an official from the Mexican embassy in El Salvador and was reunited with her ​​mother, Ana Cecilia of Jesus Medina, with the help of the Foreign Ministry’s Department for the Protection of Mexicans Abroad.

The Foreign Ministry thanks the Salvadoran authorities for their invaluable assistance and the Attorney General of the state of Mexico, which will follow up on the report filed by the girl’s mother.

The Foreign Ministry reiterates its readiness to cooperate with authorities at all levels of government and to take all necessary steps to protect our citizens abroad.
