THE GALICIAN REGIONAL PRESIDENT PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON PRESIDENT PEÑA NIETO

President Enrique Peña Nieto met today with the Galician Regional President, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. The goal of the meeting was to strengthen the economic relationship between the Xunta de Galicia and Mexico, especially as regards trade and investment.

The relationship with Galicia is particularly important because of the large Galician community in Mexico and the presence here of nearly 400 companies from Galicia. Since 2000, trade between Mexico and Galicia has increased 11.5% per year on average. In 2012, bilateral trade totaled more than 11 billion dollars.
