FOREIGN SECRETARY MEADE MEETS WITH THE FOREIGN MINISTER OF ARGENTINA
Foreign Secretary José Antonio Meade met today with Ambassador Hector Timerman, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Argentina.
The two officials discussed the bilateral relationship, stressing the importance of strengthening the economic relationship by increasing trade and investment. They agreed to hold a meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council in the near future. In addition, the cooperation agenda—including agriculture and agribusiness—will be renewed.
Argentina’s experience in small-scale agribusiness is of particular interest to Mexico, and may be put into practice in Mexico as part of the National Crusade against Hunger program and the Prosperous and Secure Border program in southern Mexico.
The two officials agreed to conduct regular consultations prior to multilateral forums, and they applauded the roles played by Mexico and Argentina in the search for consensus on human rights in the Organization of American States (OAS). |
