A NEW DIRECTOR GENERAL FOR EUROPE IS NAMED
Foreign Secretary José Antonio Meade has appointed Ambassador Alejandro Negrin Muñoz as Director General for Europe, replacing Ambassador José Ignacio Madrazo.
Ambassador Negrin holds a degree in Latin American Studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), with a Masters in International Relations from the Ortega y Gasset Institute in Madrid. He has worked in the Foreign Ministry since 1983, entering the Mexican Foreign Service in 1991 and rising to the rank of ambassador in 2011.
During his career at the Ministry, Ambassador Negrin has held various positions in Mexico and abroad, including Deputy Director General for the United Nations (2002-2004), Director of the Mexican Cultural Institute in the United States (2004-2007) and Director General of Human Rights and Democracy (2007 to March 2013).
The Foreign Ministry thanks Ambassador José Ignacio Madrazo for his dedication and professionalism. He will soon be appointed to a new post abroad. |
