THE FOREIGN MINISTRY ADDS "MEXICO AND THE UNITED STATES" TO ITS WEBSITE
The Foreign Ministry invites the public to visit a new section on its website: "Mexico and the United States," at http://mex-eua.sre.gob.mx
This new page contains useful information about the many different aspects of the bilateral relationship, as well as practical advice for Mexicans living in the United States and those planning to travel or study there. The site will expand gradually as more information from government and other sources is added.
As Presidents Enrique Peña Nieto and Barack Obama emphasized during their recent meeting in Mexico City, the relationship is of strategic importance for both countries, and the two governments are working to increase their cooperation, based on a high-level dialogue on economic competitiveness, the ties between both societies, public safety, and regional and global issues, and to take advantage of existing opportunities and the enthusiasm and optimism inspired by a new stage in our interactions.
The web page reflects the Mexican government’s interest in keeping Mexico’s society informed about measures that positively affect them. It is also part of the effort to provide the assistance and protection required by Mexicans abroad, regardless of their immigration status.
