THE UNDERSECRETARY FOR LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN, VANESSA RUBIO, MEETS WITH THE DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND POLITICAL INTEGRATION OF ECUADOR, MARCO ALBUJA

The Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean, Vanessa Rubio Márquez, held a meeting today with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Political Integration of Ecuador, Marco Albuja Martinez, who was in Mexico with the goal of strengthening cooperation and the bilateral economic and political ties.

The two officials discussed the main bilateral and regional issues, including technical, scientific, educational and cultural cooperation; consular and migration issues; and bilateral investment. They agreed to hold a fourth meeting to consult on issues of mutual interest as well as a meeting of the Joint Commission for Technical and Scientific Cooperation in 2013.

Both officials agreed that the fact that both countries have new administrations represents an excellent opportunity to renew the political ties and bonds of friendship between Mexico and Ecuador.
